NORTH PLATTE

NPCC, SOUTH CAMPUS WEIGHT ROOM
Employees are encouraged to use the fitness equipment in the
NPCC South Campus Weight Room. Hours are 7:30 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
NORTH PLATTE RECREATION COMPLEX - 1300 S. McDonald Rd., North Platte.
The North Platte Recreation Center offers multiple recreational and workout opportunities all under one roof. Cardiovascular exercise rooms with a wide variety of equipment, including treadmills, stair climbers, bikes, Health Riders and Nordic Tracks are available, plus a fully equipped weight room. The Complex houses a 25 yard, 6 lane indoor pool with one and three-meter diving boards. Added to that are three racquetball courts and areas to play basketball, volleyball or tennis. Hours are Monday - Friday 5:30 am - 8 pm, Saturday 8 am-8 pm, Sunday 1-8 pm.

A program designed for women, 40-64 years of age, with limited or no health insurance and low to medium income, to assist them in getting annual health exams.

WALKING & BIKE TRAILS
North Platte has an extensive trail system for those interested in walking and biking. The trail runs from Lake Maloney south of North Platte, all the way north of town to the Buffalo Bill State Historical Park.
SANDHILL CRANE & BIRD WATCHING
North Platte is the point where the North Platte River and South Platte River join to create the Platte River. Bird watchers enjoy the quiet beauty of the Platte River every winter when from mid-February to early April more than 100,000 Sandhill Cranes come to rest and prepare for their long flight to the Arctic Circle.
